Good morning everyone! Here is today's Daily Briefing on what was a slow, snowy news day yesterday.
In West Easton, Mayor Gross vetoed the Borough's budget, only to rescind when the Borough agreed to take a closer look at its spending. Pennsylvania's AdultBasic Program, which provides health insurance to more than 40,000 low-income adults, appears set to end in the end of February, when the program runs out of money. Governor-elect Corbett's office has said the program is unsustainable. State Senators Anthony Williams and Jeff Piccola have introduced a plan to bring school vouchers to Pennsylvania.
In national news, President Obama spoke at a Tuscon memorial service in honor of the victim's of this weekend's shooting. He also revealed some very good news: Congresswoman Giffords opened her eyes for the first time since the shooting. More good news: AIG has announced that it expects to pay back the U.S. government the last of the money that it owes for the 2008 bailout.
